Today Talitha and Manilah had their first Endurance contest together. A 22km ride in the environment of Kootwijkerbroek, The Netherlands. Manilah was as always full of energy. Talitha's stragety was to let her run in her own comfortable speed and then walk the last miles to reduce the average speed. In Holland in the first level of endurance, a maximum speed of 15 km/h is permitted. However, the most optimal time which will give you a top ranking is 13 km/h. Manilah was going very well. Unfortunately the track was shortened by 500 meters, due to an accident. Manilah therefore missed the last meters of walk and came in with an average speed of 14,98 km/h. Still good enough to finish but not be be placed in the top ten. A good lesson for next time but Manilah and Talitha had a great first ride and isn't that what counts more in the end?
