First contest of Yildiz & Yentl

ENDURANCE RULES!

March 7th 2015, Ysselsteyn

After months of training, we finally got our very first Endurance competition, how excited we were!

My purebred arabianmare Yentl (ss Menes) has been succesfully showed in the western sports (western pleasure & reining), but what wondered me, could she also be an Endurance horse?

And last saturday she showed me, once again, the versatility of the Arabian horse! At the precheck she had a good heartrate of 36 bm. We started and got an overall speed of 13 km/h. Her mindset during the ride was great! Very steady and willing to goooo! Not that sure about her recovery, note it was our very first competition, I decided to keep it calm the last 2 km so we would not loose any time at the vet. And yes she had a good heartrate!

At the final vetcheck

Yentl had the lowest hartrate (36 bm) of the entire class!!!

What a stunner!

And yes, I think we have to admit, Endurance rules!

What a great sport!

At this first Endurance race of the season also three other team members participated. Carlijn van Benthem & ASE Rahyeelah finished their first 20,5km race at a 9th position, riding 10,94 km/h and finishing with a heartbeat of 44 bm. Talitha Bakker and ASE Bisiriya Finished 8th with the same speed and heartbeat. Laura Ridder had her first 41km race with Dadji and finished 3th with an average speed of 14,64 km/h and a heartbeat of 36. What a great first race of the season!
